Perhaps both of your problems are related to the custom “Dance ‘n’ shout” skin OperaTor is using?
Easy enough to find out. If you don't already have it installed, download and install a full Opera release. Just to be safe, you should probably use the same version of Opera as the one bundled with OperaTor.
If it's running, exit OperaTor.
Then, copy the standard_skin.zip and windows_skin.zip files from the Opera skins directory (like “C:\Program Files\Opera\Skin\”) to the OperaTor skins directory (like “C:\Program Files\OperaTor\Opera\skin\”).
Then restart OperaTor and switch from the “dancenshout” skin to the “Opera Standard” skin (Tools → Appearance… → Skin).
If “Opera Standard” doesn't work, try the “Windows Native” theme.
