secure deletion of TEMP FILES
When I run operator I have it set to delete temp files when I close, this is OK but means that the temp files are still recoverable! Im taking about running it from a Hard drive not USB (on usb it means the deleted temp files are on the usb and only i have access to it.
When I exit I let operator delete the temp files on close and then spend ages wiping the free space on my hard drive with a secure overwrite method. Otherwise all my temp files are still easily found by another user of the computer with tools like recover or recovermyfiles to see exactly what i have been looking at! Am i missing this option in the settings? i cant find it and nothing is on forum??
Thanks for an excellent program though

You can Run it from a
You can
Run it from a TrueCrypt Container! Then your data will be encrypted (Bookmarks ECT), if your paranoid about your passwords for your container being broken use a stronger password, Passwords can also be caught by a keylogger, you can always use KeyScrambler Premium which supports TrueCrypt now, but you have to buy it!
Wipe history
Well, can someone identify the folders that need to be wiped? I am using WinXP Pro and CCleaner (wiper). I think that the “C:\Program Files\OperaTor\OperaTor\Opera\profile\cache4” folder (where I stored OT) is one but are there others? What about cookies? Searches? etc.
secure deletion
Thanks Iv been looking for an option it does not have. ;-( I have a solution now anyway, when iv finished using the app I right click and securely delete the entire program dir (with a secure wiper i installed) and its much faster than wiping 400 gig of free hard drive space which was taking 45 mins!. Shame I have to then unrar a another copy of the program every time i want to use it so loose any preferences.
Operator is still a totaly kick ass program, im just asking too much of it to be totaly 100 percent secure at client.
Thanks again. ;-)
I think the best way
I think the best way therefore is to run OperaTor in a virtual Box, for example “Sandboxie” (freeware), and clean the whole sandbox after Session with a data – shretter, f. ex. “Eraser 5.8” (freeware) in secure mode per context menu. Before you do this, you must save your downloads.
Yeah good idea shame it wont
Yeah good idea shame it wont work on vista 64bit though.
Sorry, but...
That's how it works ;) .
The only alternative is to include a file-wiping program in the package but that's no alternative. Not worth the extra MBs when you can download such tool by yourself.
